 Text Box: Goal Create a flexible architecture upon which teams can continue developing the system Description Crafting a flexible object oriented architecture baseline early in the project life cycle is a pre-requisite for successful and efficient system development, using the unified process. A good architecture is a major investment, it represents the foundation of the project. Architecture is not a luxury, this task requires software engineers having experience in OOD. Teams  initiating projects using OOT the first time lack this experience. Using the architecture baselining service you reduce the risk resulting from inflexible architectures and reduce the time required in order to effectively use your resources. A team of two experienced OO-consultant will perform the first increment of the project while your staff serves as domain experts and learn from the consultants work techniques. After 4 to maximum 6 weeks, we will terminate the modeling part of the first increment with the following concrete deliverables: A Use Case model capturing the architecturally significant use cases An analysis model of the core concepts and mechanisms required to cover the core use cases A first cut logical and physical architecture Upon request, a team of expert programmers from ACTL can go one step further and implement the first architectural prototype to prove the correctness of the architectural concepts established in the analysis and design models. Depending on the system complexity additional iterations may be necessary to create a final foundation of all further project activities allowing initiation of several concurrent increments.  Duration        Depending on the jumpstart package between 1 and 3 iterations (=>8 to 24 weeks).
